Brother produces 50th millionth home sewing machine

In September 2012 Brother Industries Ltd, celebrated the production of 50 million sewing machines.

The production of Brother home sewing machines began in 1932 in Japan. In 1979, Brother started production in Taiwan, and then in 1993 production was also expanded to Zhuhai, China. In 2005, production of home sewing machines then moved entirely to Taiwan and China.

From April 2012, to keep pace with growing demand, Brother opened its third and largest sewing machine factory close to Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.
